In Green Face Group Discussions I facilitate dialogues between groups of individuals presenting them with prepared questions about the words they use to identify themselves, their meanings and the assumptions and prejudices they have encountered as a result of these. This is sometimes a live situation with a present audience, and at other times this is a privately filmed event to later be screened. In both scenarios the speakers have green faces, which in the creation of film become green screen faces for the superimposing of other faces and imagery found on the Internet. The work is part of an ongoing interrogation of words and their meaning/non-meaning. It is the use of language in assigning meaning to the individual, which interests me. How is this possible? Where are the short-comings; what are the consequences?
